The daily flight between Kullu and Chandigarh in Himachal Pradesh has been stopped suddenly. Due to this, patients including tourists and their relatives going to PGI Chandigarh for treatment are worried. The tourism business of Kullu-Manali has also suffered a setback due to the closure of flights.
The surprising thing is that even the state government and the regional officials of Alliance Air are not aware of the reasons for its closure. Alliance Air Station Management Kullu said that the flight between Bhuntar of Kullu and Chandigarh has been closed since November 16.
They said that he had no information as to why this flight was stopped. Closed as per the orders of the head office. This flight flying between Chandigarh and Kullu was packed with passengers every day. Therefore, the argument of loss cannot be given behind closing this flight.
The highway connecting Kullu-Manali has suffered heavy damage during the monsoon this year. At many places, the roads have still not been repaired. In such a situation, flight was such a means by which local people including tourists could reach Bhuntar from Chandigarh to Kullu in less than an hour. This flight used to fly daily except Sunday. But, now this service is closed.
Himachal Director Tourism Mansi Sahay said that Alliance Air has stopped this flight keeping in mind the profit. Now there is talk of running it seasonally. He said that efforts will be made to restart it after talking to Alliance Air officials.
There were daily flights from Shimla to Kullu also. That too has been closed since July 10. Due to this, tourists coming to Shimla are not able to go to Kullu-Manali. Similarly, tourists coming to Manali are also not able to come to Shimla. On one hand, the government is claiming to bring five crore tourists to the state, on the other hand, the problems of the people are being increased by stopping the flights which have been running for a long time.
Both Shimla-Kullu and Chandigarh-Kullu flights connect famous tourist destinations across the world. Despite this, they have been closed. Sources say that on the instructions of the leaders, this flight between Chandigarh and Kullu has been stopped.
