Home Minister Anil Vij has called for a report from the Director General of Police (DGP) in the case of suspension of 372 investigating officers (IOs) in Haryana. However, the DGP has said that it will take time to prepare the report. Also, two more days’ time has been sought from the Home Minister for this work. Till now, about 100 out of 372 IOs have been suspended on the orders of the Home Minister. Whereas work is going on to prepare the report of 272 IOs.
Due to the action taken against the police personnel due to these orders of Anil Vij, the investigating officers have been taking action in padding cases and challans are being presented in the court in a hurry for months. Not only this, strong efforts are also being made to arrest the accused. On behalf of the judicial officers themselves, the Home Minister was informed that the investigating officers seem to be in a hurry to present the challan more than before. Now everyone is preparing to present the challan within 90 days. At the same time, the Home Minister was told by the jail officers that the number of prisoners with them is increasing compared to normal days. Most of these prisoners are said to be wanted in old cases. Those who have been at the mercy of the police in the name of investigation for a long time. Orders were given by the Home Minister to take action against 372 investigating officers of the police who kept pending cases for more than a year. So far, 100 investigating officers have been suspended in this case, while in the case of others, reports are being prepared by the department. There has been a stir in the department due to action being taken against so many police officers simultaneously. The important thing is that there is a shortage of investigating officers in many districts. Home Minister Anil Vij says that any kind of negligence will not be tolerated at all in cases pending for one year. He has not given the order to suspend 372 investigating officers happily, rather he has done this out of sadness.
