In a decisive move against social crimes, the Awantipora Police have apprehended five individuals involved in gambling activities, with the confiscation of stake money.
Acting on precise information about gambling operations in Pampore, a police team from the Pampore Police Station conducted a targeted raid, resulting in the immediate arrest of five gamblers. The individuals have been identified as Firdous Ahmad Wani (son of Mohammad Shaban Wani), Ab Majeed Wani (son of Ab Aziz Wani, resident of Tulbagh Doninad), Gh Mohammad Wani (son of Ab Aziz Wani, resident of Tulbagh Doninad), Mohammad Amin Wani (son of Mohammad Shaban Wani, resident of Nambalabal), and Aqib Ahmad Dar (son of Ab Rahman Dar, resident of Tulbagh Pampore).
The police confiscated a stake amounting to ₹4,000/- and playing cards from the arrested gamblers. The individuals have been taken into custody at the police station.
A case, registered under FIR No. 130/2023 and relevant sections of the law, is currently under investigation at Police Station Pampore.
