On the last day of nomination filing, Congress made efforts to appease several dissidents within the party. Some of them accepted, while others, showing rebellious intent, decided to contest the elections. A significant development occurred in the Sursagar constituency of Jodhpur, considered very close to CM Ashok Gehlot. Congress rebel Rameshwar Dadhich withdrew his nomination around noon. The reason behind withdrawing the nomination was not explicitly stated. However, later in the evening, he boarded a charter plane with BJP’s state in-charge V Satish and reached Jaipur, officially joining BJP. Rameshwar Dadhich is considered very close to CM Ashok Gehlot.

It is worth mentioning that on November 4, Congress announced Shahzad Khan as the candidate from Sursagar. In the meantime, former mayor Rameshwar Dadhich, despite being at the top in surveys, expressed dissatisfaction with not being given the ticket. At that point, the BJP reached out to him, discussing the possibility of supporting BJP candidate Devendra Joshi. Responding to this, Rameshwar Dadhich accepted and withdrew his nomination. However, until then, no one expected that he would join BJP.

Smooth path for Badri Lal Jat in Barisadri
Meanwhile, former Congress MLA Prakash Choudhary, from the Barisadri assembly constituency, withdrew his nomination. Congress had fielded Badri Lal Jat from this seat. Angered by not being given the ticket, Prakash Choudhary filed an independent nomination. He stated that for the past three days, he had been in contact with senior Congress leaders, including Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Respecting them, he reconsidered the nomination and withdrew it.

Ministers try to convince Barjod, decision remains unchanged
On the other hand, Congress leaders reached the home of Congress rebels from the Chorasi assembly constituency in Dungarpur to persuade him, but he did not change his decision. Former MP and ex-district president Tara Chand Bhagora are present in the field. On the other hand, upset with not getting the ticket, Congress Pradesh Secretary Mahendra Barjod filed an independent nomination. Cabinet Minister Mahendrajit Singh Malviya, AIIC Secretary Dinesh Khodania, candidate Tara Chand Bhagora, district president Vallabharam Patidar, and several Congress leaders tried to persuade Mahendra Barjod. Despite discussing the possibility of getting another chance, Barjod remained firm on his decision and posed a challenge by contesting the elections.

MLA Joharilal Meena also becomes a rebel
Congress did not face much trouble in Alwar. Joharilal Meena, the Congress MLA from Rajgarh-Laxmangarh, did not withdraw his nomination. The party had cancelled Johri’s ticket and given the ticket to Mangelal. On the other hand, former Rajsico president Sunil Parihar from Siwana is also contesting as a Congress rebel.

In addition, MLA Alok Beniwal from Shahpura, Nagar Parishad President Rajkaran Choudhary from Sardarshahr, Harendra Mirdha in Nagaur, former minister Habiburrahman in front of Harendra Mirdha did not withdraw their nominations. Along with this, from Ajmer South, PCC member Hemant Bhati, former MLA Gopal Baheti in Pushkar, three-time Congress district president Dr Govind Sharma in Nagar, and MLA Khiladilal Bairwa from Basari have not withdrawn their nominations.
