The trend of furious leaders leaving their parties and joining other parties due to the denial of party tickets in the Assembly elections continues. On Sunday, after Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga joined the BJP from Barmer, Congress also welcomed three leaders at once. Former BJP MP Colonel Sonaram Choudhary, who had contested from Kheenvsar in 2018, Bhagirath Choudhary, who was seeking a ticket from BJP in Barmer, and Prashant Singh Paramar from Bari have joined Congress.
On Sunday, after 10 years, Colonel returned to the Congress party once again in Karnal. Colonel met Congress National President Mallikarjun in Delhi and joined Congress. It is noteworthy that in 2014, he joined BJP after leaving Congress. After that, he contested the Lok Sabha elections and won. Sonaram Choudhary is expected to contest from the Gudamalani seat with Congress. After receiving the ticket, Sonaram stated that he had served after engineering and military service. He became an MP in 1996 and was an MP for three consecutive terms. He was an MLA from 2008 to 2013 and was a BJP MP from 2014 to 2019. BJP did not give a ticket from Gudamalani, and he refused to contest Hemaram Choudhary from Gudamalani.
He said, “I want to serve in Congress while being in Congress. I hope to win from Gudamalani. Congress is working to unite the country, and that’s why I joined Congress.” Prashant Singh Parmar said that while working for the BJP, one of his sons was martyred. He said, “Although BJP had assured to give a ticket from Barmer, now BJP is getting 21 leaders to join and giving them the ticket. There is a difference between BJP’s words and actions, so I will contest the elections by staying with Congress, which talks about organising and uniting the nation.” Prashant Singh is likely to be given a Congress ticket from Barmer, and Bhagirath Choudhary from Kheenvsar is also likely to be fielded by Congress.
