Public anger is an indicator of coming change of power : Bhupinder Singh Hooda

Former Chief Minister of Haryana and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said  growing public anger against the BJP-JJP government is a symbol of coming change of power in the state. Hooda also congratulated all the people of the state on the occasion of Haryana Day, on completion of 57 years of Haryana state. Hooda blew the trumpet of change in the state by holding a huge Jan Aakrosh Rally in Radaur Vidhan Sabha here on Wednesday. Hooda and State Congress President Ch Udaybhan will visit all the 90 assembly constituencies of the state.  Hooda said that today, seeing the enthusiasm and support of this sea of people, change was certain in the state and no one can stop it. “People are fed up with the BJP-JJP government. Today the public message from Radaur will go to entire Haryana, people have made up their mind to bring Congress government in 2024,” he said.
Starting his address, the Leader of Opposition said that he was  saddened by the decline of Haryana on the developmental indicators. “Till 2014, Haryana which was number 1 in per capita income, per capita investment, job creation and law and order, welfare of farmers, poor, and businessmen. Every section of the society was happy,” he said.
“It is sad that Haryana has today reached the 17th position in growth rate and the top position in unemployment, crime and drug addiction. Today there are no doctors in hospitals, no teachers in schools and no employees in offices. Where has Haryana reached in 9 years? This government made big promises to the public like old age pension of Rs 5100, MSP to farmers, doubling their income, medical colleges in every district, good price of sugarcane. But, after 9 years every person is feeling cheated,” he stated.
Describing the problems of sugarcane farmers, Hooda said between 2005 and 2014, the Congres government increased the price of sugarcane from Rs 117 to Rs 310. “In the name of increasing the price of sugarcane, the present government sometimes increases it by Rs 5 and sometimes by Rs 10. When sugar is so expensive in the market, then why is the government not giving the price of sugarcane at least Rs 450/quintal,” he stated.
He said the Congress government has talked about giving legal guarantee of MSP to the farmers in the Raipur convention of the party. “When the Congress government comes to power in the state, old age pension will be the highest in the country at Rs 6000. On the lines of Rajasthan, gas cylinder for Rs 500, old pension scheme to employees, free plots of 100 yards will be given to the poor,” he promised. On this occasion, Haryana Congress president Udaybhan said the time has come to overthrow this government. He said Congress governments at the centre and the state have made the biggest contribution in taking Haryana, which was once considered a backward area of Punjab, even beyond than Punjab in development.
