To avoid disturbing the game of rebel candidates in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly elections, the BJP and Congress have prepared a strategy for their adjustment along with releasing the list of candidates. The responsibility of damage control has been given to the leaders of the assembly constituencies at the local level and to the big leaders of the parties. It may be noted that in the last elections, many Congress leaders rebelled after the distribution of tickets. In this way, the party had to face a loss of more than 30 seats. However, when the Congress government faced a power crisis, these rebels helped the government to survive. Although this time, most of the rebels who had joined Congress after winning the last assembly elections have been satisfied by giving them tickets.
The nominations will be filed until 6 November. After that, the nomination papers will be checked on 7 November. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until 9 November. In this way, parties will try until the last day of nomination withdrawal that rebels do not stand in front of their official candidates.
BJP may have a harder time…!
It is worth mentioning that this time, more rebels can stand in front of the official BJP candidates. The biggest rebel is coming out from C P Joshi’s home district, Chittorgarh. MLA Chandrabhan Singh Akhya has rebelled after the ticket was cut. In the same way, in Jhotwara, Ashu Singh Surpura challenged Rajvardhan Singh. Surpura has taken the oath with the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita in the public meeting that he will contest the elections and will not sit silently in any condition. In this way, rebels have come out in front of the leaders on nearly a dozen seats.
These rebels harmed the parties in the last election
In the last assembly elections, Congress rebels caused more damage to the party. Among these, Babulal Nagar from Dudu, Sanyam Lodha from Sirohi, Mahadev Singh from Khandela, Rajkumar Gaud from Ganganagar, Khushveer Singh from Marwar Junction, Ramkesh Meena from Ganganagar City, and Ramila Khadiya from Kushalgarh have contested elections and won as Congress rebels. Similarly, in the BJP Suresh Tank from Kishangarh and Om Prakash Hudla from Mahua betrayed the party and became MLAs. However this time, Hudla was made a Congress candidate. While a dozen or so leaders have rebelled, the parties had to face the defeat of the official candidates due to the rebellion of these rebels.
Responsibility to make the rebels withdraw their nominations has been given to the big leaders of society.
The BJP has formulated a strategy that wherever a rebel candidate contests, an attempt will be made to adjust him through local leaders first. After that, a party leader related to the rebel candidate’s caste will be sent to them, and negotiations will be conducted to withdraw the nomination. Meanwhile, both parties are trying to appease the rebels with the temptation of adjusting them after coming to power.
CM Gehlot has given the open option of ‘adjusting’ angry leaders
On the other hand, CM Gehlot has created a stir by giving a statement in political lanes. Speaking to the media at Sanganer Airport on his return from Delhi, Gehlot said that those who have supported the Congress government during the crisis and helped save the government, but for some reason, if they have not been given a ticket, their anger will be removed. Gehlot’s statement is seen as an attempt to connect this statement with the ongoing conflict in Congress from not getting a ticket.
