Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress are currently troubled by the ‘insiders.’ The situation is such that there is growing opposition among dissatisfied leaders. So far, BJP has announced 124, while Congress has announced 76 candidates. As ticket announcements are being made, disgruntled leaders are coming forward.
Speaking of the BJP, their damage control seems to have failed. Even BJP’s state president CP Joshi is surrounded in his own home in Chittorgarh. Joshi is facing anti-incumbency slogans. Chittorgarh MLA Chandrabhan Singh Akya and his supporters have continuously protested against the party since the ticket was cut. Chandrabhan himself is openly rebelling against CP Joshi, although he hasn’t openly spoken against the organisation yet. It is worth noting that this time the party has fielded Vidhyadhar Nagar MLA Narpat Singh Rajvi from Chittorgarh. On the other hand, people have announced a protest against making Siddhi Kumari the candidate again from Bikaner East. Former Chairman of the Urban Development Trust, Mahavir Ranka, has held a meeting with his supporters and shown his dissatisfaction. His supporters said that now they will demonstrate against the decision.
Meanwhile, similar instances can be seen in the Congress party. Displeased with giving a ticket to Education Minister BD Kalla from Bikaner West seat, Vipra Kalyan Board member Rajkumar Kiradu resigned. He said that the party had given the ticket to Dr BD Kalla for the 10th time. Expressing dissatisfaction with the party’s decision, he resigned from the Board of Directors and the position of National General Secretary of the Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Organisation. Kiradu has even said that they will send the Congress party defeated from Bikaner this time. He added that it is a shame for Congress that ground workers are not being given importance.
At the same time, the former chairman of Gulabpura Municipality, Dhanraj Gurjar and his workers have also come out in protest after Jabbar Singh got the ticket from Asind’s seat. The workers raised slogans in protest, saying, “BJP se vair nahi, Jabbar Singh ki khair nahi.” It is worth noting that Dhanraj Gurjar had also submitted his claim for the ticket from Asind.
Also, the release of the BJP’s candidates list for the upcoming polls has led to anger in the Vaishya community after the ticket of MLA Ashok Lahoti from Sanganer seat was cut. Prominent leaders of the society have demanded the BJP to reconsider the Sanganer ticket. They said that till now, there has been a tradition in Jaipur of the BJP giving three tickets to the Vaishya community. They added that if this tradition is broken now, then the community will have to make tough decisions against the BJP.
