Youth Congress President in Haryana, Divyanshu Buddhiraja, has criticized the Haryana government for the growing unemployment issue. He noted that despite the large number of government job aspirants, very few are actually being employed by the current state government. Buddhiraja highlighted that numerous government job vacancies in various departments, boards, and corporations remain unfilled, leading to a backlog of unemployed youth. Additionally, several positions for which exams have been conducted are mired in legal challenges.

He mentioned that 13,536 applications were received for 13,536 Group ‘D’ category job openings in Haryana. To accommodate all applicants, the written exam will be conducted in two sessions, with each session hosting around 344,000 candidates. He argued that the high number of applications for low-level positions in government departments underscores the extent of unemployment in the state. Buddhiraja pointed out that many graduates and postgraduates are applying for Group ‘D’ jobs due to the dearth of better opportunities. He noted that thousands of positions, including those for Patwaris, Gram Sachivs, and Canal Patwaris, have been delayed due to the government’s decision to recruit through the Common Eligibility Test (CET). He criticized the government for not providing concrete figures in response to legal challenges in the High Court regarding the CET.

He also mentioned the Group ‘C’ exam held in November 2022, which saw 3,58,000 candidates pass the exam. However, due to the stringent conditions, many successful candidates were disqualified from the main examination. Buddhiraja criticized the government for not providing accurate data when questioned in the High Court.
