Governor emphasizes humanitarian service in Red Cross meeting

Governor Kalraj Mishra met with the office bearers of the newly formed state branch of the Indian Red Cross Society under the leadership of Chairman Rajesh Krishna Birla at Raj Bhavan on Monday. Governor Mishra, while congratulating the newly appointed state committee members, called for effective work at all levels for humanitarian service through the Red Cross. He said that Red Cross district branches should remain dedicated not only during disasters but also in normal circumstances for service and assistance. He emphasized the need for the Red Cross to continuously work for TB-free (Tuberculosis-free) India, cancer, anaemia, and other activities related to blood donation.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary Subir Kumar and Principal Secretary Govind Ram Jayaswal were also present. Rajasthan’s Chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society, Rajesh Krishna Birla, briefed Governor Mishra about the formation of the Red Cross’s state management committee, executive committee, and finance committee, and thereafter apprised him of the details of the priorities of the action plan. Committee’s Vice Chairman Vijay Khatri and Treasurer Ramesh Moondra provided information about the Red Cross’s social activities and future plans.
