On Saturday, Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as “Prachanda,” denounced the unprecedented terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel and expressed his sympathies to the injured Nepalese citizens there. According to reports, the attacks have injured at least 9 Nepalese citizens, while 17 others are being held captive in Israel by Hamas.

“I unequivocally condemn the terrorist attack in Israel this morning. Nine of the Nepalis have been reportedly injured. At this critical hour, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to injured Nepalis and other innocent victims and their families,” Nepal PM posted.
Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday issued a press statement confirming that nine Nepal nationals have been injured with two in serious condition after the Palestinian group Hamas attacked Israel.
“We have been informed that a farm, where 14 Nepalis were working, was also under attack. Nine of the Nepalis have been reportedly injured while two of them are in serious condition. Further updates will be made in due course,” the Nepal Foreign Ministry stated in the release.

The Nepali Foreign Ministry also said that it was coordinating with Israeli citizens and facilitating the injured’s access to medical care.

According to government records, there are currently 4500 Nepalese citizens living in Israel. The government of Nepal likewise urged its citizens to exercise caution and abide by the safety recommendations made by the authorities. After Hamas launched a “surprise attack” on Saturday morning, a barrage of rockets pounded southern and central Israel, prompting the statement from the Nepalese Foreign Ministry.
