Bhopal: IAF holds aerial display to mark its 91st anniversary

To commemorate its 91st anniversary, the Indian Air Force (IAF) organized an aerial exhibition above Bhojtal Lake in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

This event featured captivating aerobatic displays, highlighting the nation’s current air prowess. Notably, the CH-47F (I) Chinook helicopters from the Indian Air Force performed exhilarating aerobatic maneuvers over the lake.

Distinguished guests, including Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and high-ranking Indian Air Force officers, were in attendance to witness the fly-past program.

Earlier in the week, as part of the Air Force Day celebrations, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari met with veteran air warriors in New Delhi.

During this gathering, discussions revolved around addressing various challenges faced by the veterans, with Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari instructing the relevant officials to expedite their resolution.

Air Force Day, which marks the official establishment of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in 1932, is an annual celebration that sees the participation of the Indian Air Force chief and senior officers.

The IAF initially served as a supporting force for the Royal Air Force of the United Kingdom in 1932, with its first operational squadron established in 1933. Over the years, the IAF has undertaken significant operations, including Operation Vijay, Operation Meghdoot, Operation Cactus, and Operation Poomalai, since 1950.

On October 8, 2023, the Indian Air Force (IAF) will proudly commemorate its 91st anniversary.
