ED conducts raids on Rajasthan Home Minister’s assets

Pravatan Nideshal has now turned towards Rajasthan. On Tuesday, the ED conducted simultaneous raids at 19 locations related to the state’s Home Minister Rajendra Yadav’s home region and his son’s company in Kotputli, Bahrod, Viratnagar, and Jaipur. This action has many political implications as the state is ruled by the Congress party. Meanwhile, the Home Minister has also held a press conference.
According to information, different teams of the ED conducted a massive operation on Tuesday, involving more than two dozen officials who arrived from Delhi. The action was taken at the properties related to the Home Minister in Kotputli, Bahrod, Viratnagar, and Jaipur. The minister’s involvement in a mid-day meal company associated with Kotputli is under investigation by the ED.
During the raids, bundles of documents, computers, and other electronic equipment were seized. The contents of the seized materials have not been disclosed yet. It is said that the minister’s son is associated with a flexible packaging company in Kotputli. Another prominent Congress leader’s son is also involved in this company. According to ED sources, this action was taken after information about crores of rupees in corruption in the company came to light. ED is also investigating other companies connected to the minister’s son through the seized documents.
ED officials called the minister to the spot and, with the help of a blacksmith, broke the locks of about half a dozen almirahs and safes in front of him. The contents of the seized goods are being examined.
It is reported that the minister’s son is associated with a coaching institute and other companies related to education. Last year, on September 7, raids were conducted at 53 locations on charges of irregularities against the minister and his son.
In the paper leak case, the ED had raided the locations of former RPSC member Babulal Katara on September 15, seizing five kilograms of gold.
Home Minister Rajendra Yadav said, “The truth can be troubled but not defeated. ED has investigated my and my children’s homes. The intentions and policies of the Central Government are both wrong. Children have the right to work in the family. We have the right to do business, and our business is nothing new.
We are doing business in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Delhi as well. Regarding the matter of the mid-day meal, neither have we submitted a tender nor are we suppliers. The Central Government company took our work. They have withheld our money. This dispute arose because of this. Taking action 10 days before the Model Code of Conduct is targeting me.”
