According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it is the government’s policy to open new doors for girls. He claimed that the passage of the women’s reservation bill in the new Parliament building has heralded a new future for the nation. After distributing appointment letters virtually to over 51,000 new employees across various government departments, Modi spoke at a Rozgar Mela and emphasized the growing role that technology is playing in government.
He told the new employees that using technology in government initiatives had reduced complexity, stopped corruption, and increased comfort and credibility. He urged them to put the needs of citizens first while implementing technology to enhance governance, pointing out its applications in areas like digital lockers, train ticketing, and direct benefit transfers to recipients of various programs. The prime minister claimed that his administration employs a new way of thinking that is based on continuous observation, mission-mode execution, and widespread participation in government initiatives with the goal of reaching 100% saturation and laying the foundation for the achievement of enormous objectives.
He emphasized that the recently passed women’s reservation bill will significantly increase the country’s 50% population and that this is a time of historic decisions and accomplishments for the nation. He noted that many of these new employees were not even born when the idea was first proposed, but the issue, which had been pending for 30 years, was approved by unprecedented numbers in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. He noted that girls are involved in fields like space and sports, as well as being commissioned into the armed forces, and that the dreams of the new India are lofty. He added that having women in any industry has always brought about positive changes.
