Chandigarh Police Achieves Major Breakthrough: Arrests Impersonators in Exam Cheating Scandal”

In a major breakthrough, Chandigarh Police got a major success while acting against the persons who appeared in the exams on the palace of actual candidate by taking huge money. As per direction of Sh. Ketan Bansal, IPS, SP/Crime & HQ, under supervision of DSP Crime Sh. Udaypal Singh, a team of Crime Branch lead by Insp. Ashok Kumar arrested two persons namely Naveen Kumar (Candidate) and Pawan Kumar (cheater), who appeared in the exams for the post of Junior Technician which was conducted on 30.4.2023 at Punjab University, Chandigarh.

Sh. Dinesh Tandon, XEN, Electrical Division No.3, Sector-9: Chandigarh wherein filed a complaint alleging that from the perusal of record/information received from UIAMS, Panjab University, Chandigarh, it is found that some impersonation has been done by candidate Naveen Kumar in the examination to the post of Junior Technician. In this regards FIR No. 155 dated 13.9.2023 u/s 419,420,467,468,471,120B IPC PS-11, Chandigarh was
registered. Accused Pawan Kumar who had already been arrested by Haryana Police was brought on production warrant on 22.9.2023 and police remand was obtained. During remand accused Naveen Kumar was also arrested on 24.9.2023. Modus operandi:- Accused Pawan Kumar impersonated himself as candidate and appeared in the examination, he pasted his own photographs on the admit card, put his own finger prints as well as signature on attendant sheet. Before arrest he had appeared in 3 exams i.e. Delhi Police constable exam at Bikaner, SSC MTS exam at Patiala. Junior Technician in Electrical Division, Chandigarh. He has no certainty whether he will pass the examination or not, but charged Rs. 2 lacs each for Delhi Police Constable Exam and SSC MTS Exam and took Rs. 50,000/- in advance for appearing in exam of Junior Technician in Electrical Division, Chandigarh, but failed in this exam.
