Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi today inaugurated the “Chhattisgarh Grameen Aawas NYAY Yojana” benefitting 47,090 houseless families of the state in the first phase.
Under Grameen Aawas NYAY Yojana, a total of 10,76,000 people will benefit from this scheme in a phased manner and the remaining 6,99,439 eligible families on the permanent waiting list of the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (Rural) will also be benefitted. The first instalment amount at the rate of Rs 25,000 to 1 lakh beneficiaries of “Pradhan Mantri Awas Gramin Yojana” is being distributed.
*Unlike the remote control of the Congress party unveiling schemes benefitting the poor, BJP’s remote control is operated secretively by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Each time, he presses the button, Mumbai airport, railway contract, infrastructure, etc. goes to Adani. When we press the button there are a lot of changes like 380 English medium schools get open, and 42000 vacancies are out. Crores of rupees were swiftly transferred to the bank accounts of underprivileged individuals in Chhattisgarh. The money was transferred within a matter of seconds,” Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the “Aawas NYAY Sammelan” at Fire and SDRF Ground in village Parsada (Sakri) of Takhatpur development block of Bilaspur district. *
Pitching for the caste census, he said, “Caste census is like the X-ray of India as it will help us understand how many OBCs, tribals, and individuals from the general category are there in the country. Once we have this data, the nation can move forward inclusively. Why PM Modi is scared of the caste census? And does not share the data with the citizens of India.”
Recognizing the need for increased women’s participation in all sectors, he said, “Conducting a caste census is essential for the participation of all.”
He added that if the Congress party comes to power in Centre, the first step will be to conduct a caste census and ensure the partnership of OBC community in the development of the country.
MP Rahul Gandhi inaugurated 414 development and construction works worth Rs 669 crore 69 lakh for Bilaspur district and performed Bhoomi Pujan for the same.
The Member of Parliament also distributed an amount of Rs 5 crore, i.e. Rs 1 lakh each to 500 beneficiaries of “Mukhyamantri Nirman Shramik Aawas Sahayata Yojana” and appointment letters to 2594 selected teachers and forest rights letters to 1117 beneficiaries in urban areas.
