Gehlot approved Rs 30 crores for 99 colleges
JAIPUR: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved an additional budget provision of Rs 30 crore for 99 colleges in the state. These include 72 co-educational colleges and 27 women’s colleges. Of this amount, Rs 28 crore will be spent on the construction of 114 additional classrooms in these colleges, and Rs 2 crore will be spent on essential repair work and furniture purchases. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had announced in the state budget 2023-24 for the construction of classrooms, libraries and ICT labs as per the requirement in the state’s higher and technical education institutions.
Devnarayan Residential School to be started in Thalla
ALWAR: The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has approved the proposal to start a new Devnarayan Girls Residential School in Thalla, Alwar district. The school will have a capacity of 280 students and will be operated from classes 6 to 12. The school will offer a science stream in classes 11 and 12. The Chief Minister has also approved the creation of 23 new posts for the school, including lecturers, senior teachers, laboratory assistants, and other staff. This announcement is part of the Chief Minister’s commitment to providing quality education to all children in Rajasthan. He has said that he wants to make the state a hub for education and research.
ORANGE ALERT ISSUED AS HEAVY RAINFALL CONTINUES
JAIPUR: On Monday morning, certain areas of Rajasthan experienced substantial rainfall, resulting in disruptions to the operations of several North Western Railway trains. The meteorological department has issued an ‘orange’ alert, cautioning about the possibility of heavy rainfall in numerous districts across the state. Due to the water level exceeding the danger threshold at a bridge located between Bharuch and Ankleshwar within the Vadodara division of Western Railway, situated in neighbouring Gujarat, two trains had to be cancelled, while eight others had their services partially suspended.
State faculty development academy to be established
JAIPUR: The state government is making important decisions for improvements in higher education. In this regard, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the establishment of the Rajasthan State Faculty Development Academy (RSFDA) in Jaipur. Through the Rajasthan State Faculty Development Academy, national and international level prestigious training institutes will be empanelled to provide academic improvements, teacher orientation, and quality training in the field of higher education.
