On the occasion of the 20th memorial day of the Late Shri Ramjilal Swarnkar, Founder and Trustee of Mahatma Gandhi Medical University, Sitapura, renowned classical maestro of Patiala Gharana, Kaushiki Chakraborty embraced the evening with a rangoli of thumri, dhrupad and semi-classical filmy songs. Floral tributes were offered to the late Shri Ramjilal and Late Mata Gomati Devi Swarankar.
Chairperson Dr Vikas Swaranakar said in the welcome address that the annual program dedicated to art and culture for the last 20 years has established itself as a major cultural program of Jaipur. Founder Chairman Dr ML Swaranakar said that through these programs, the people of Jaipur are given an opportunity to come face to face with renowned art connoisseurs. The program is especially an effort to connect the young generation with their cultural heritage.
In the programme, internationally renowned classical singer Kaushiki Chakraborty enlivened all the genres of singing. Kaushiki said, “When I see the young generation in classical music programs, I feel that we are succeeding in our objective. She said that good music purifies the soul. He gave information about the relation of sargam to aalap and music terminologies.”
The program started with a beautiful rendition of Dhrupad’s bandish ‘Jaao Jaao Girdhari, Barjori Karat Vinati Main Vaari Jaane Girdhari. The lyrics were decorated in Thumri. Traditional composition Chalo man Ganga Jamun teer mesmerized the audience by narrating the cooling of the body. He recited ‘Salona Sa Sajan Hai Aur Main Hoon…Jiya Mein Ek Agan Hai Aur Main Hoon.’
In the program, Mrs Meena Swarankar, Ram Ratan Soni, Neelam Soni, Harman Swarankar, Dr Shobhit Swarankar, Jayashree Swarankar, Dr Sudhir Sachdev, Dr Vinay Kapoor, DGP Shri Umesh Mishra, Shri Bhupendra Dak, Commissioner Biju George Joseph, Shri BL Soni, Including DB Gupta, Malini Aggarwal, Sanjay Aggarwal, Antar Singh Nehra a large number of doctors and distinguished officials were present.
