Gajendra Singh Shekhawat: People determined to oust Gehlot govt

On Sunday, Central Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Central Law State Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal declared the Ashok Gehlot-led government in Rajasthan as a “failure” on every front. They stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government at the centre, common people’s lives have been made comfortable and simple through welfare policies.
They asserted, “The people of the state have resolved to bring about a change. In the upcoming assembly elections, the BJP will come to power with a strong majority and establish the rule of law in the state. The BJP government will work to restore the glory of Rajasthan. We will take Rajasthan to the doorstep of prosperity.”
Shekhawat addressed the press, stating that law and order, paper leaks, conflicts with farmers, crime, atrocities against Dalits, and power cuts have become serious issues in the state. He said, “Rajasthan has a population of 79.7 million, which means that 5.61% of the country’s population resides here. However, 22% of the rape cases registered in the country are happening in Rajasthan. Just yesterday, Chief Minister Gehlot went to review the venue for preparations for Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi’s rally. Within a 5-kilometer radius of that venue, the body of an unidentified woman was found. Shekhawat said that criminals in the state are so emboldened that they forcibly abducted a woman who had gone out for an evening stroll after having dinner at her home.
Three perpetrators abducted her and committed heinous acts. They left her in a naked state and fled. She had to walk on the road without any clothes, and the police had to use the seat of their vehicle to protect her dignity. Such incidents that bring shame to humanity are happening continuously in Rajasthan. This is the result of the government’s complete failure. Due to protests by revenue department employees, including Patwaris and Girdawars, no work is being done in that direction. “
Targeting the mafia situation in the state, Shekhawat said, “In every region of the state, mafias are active. In Bikaner district, the mining mafia’s rampant activities are being discussed nationwide. Illegal mining is taking place on all lands, including border areas, forests, and canals.” Shekhawat said that the state has lagged in central government schemes. He added, “During the period of 2013-18, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, every scheme was implemented in Rajasthan before or at the same time as other states. However, today, the state has slipped to the third or fourth position in the implementation of every scheme. Despite allocating a budget of Rs 30,000 crores for the Jal Jeevan Mission, Rajasthan is currently struggling at the third and fourth positions in terms of progress. Despite providing the highest budget, Rajasthan is now performing worse than other states.”
On this occasion, former MP and state president C.R. Chaudhary, Shrawan Singh Bagdi, MLA Sumit Godara, Jalam Singh, and many other BJP leaders were present.
