Several Chinese regions have halted manufacturing, commerce, and public transportation. They also pushed back the first day of school. Typhoon Saola is projected to move northwest at around 10 kilometers per hour, approaching the coastal districts of Guangdong province gradually.

According to Global Times, China’s State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has dispatched working groups to Fujian and Guangdong to carry out relevant typhoon protection activities.

Typhoon Saola is expected to make landfall on Friday in the coastal districts of Guangdong Province and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), according to a story in the Global Times.
