In a progressive stride to enhance India’s education technology, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) has been chosen by the Ministry of Education to upgrade DIKSHA, the national platform for knowledge sharing. Oracle India’s senior vice-president, Shailender Kumar, confirmed the development at a recent briefing. This move aims to enhance the platform’s accessibility while cutting down IT costs.
DIKSHA, one of India’s most prominent Digital Public Infrastructure initiatives, caters to 1.48 million schools across the nation in 36 regional languages. The OCI-assisted platform will now deliver educational resources to millions more students, teachers, and collaborators nationwide, marking a milestone in the seven-year collaboration pact.
Oracle’s tech overhaul will boost DIKSHA’s scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness, also enabling the platform to flexibly adjust to demand-based capacity. This improvement allows DIKSHA to cater to more users as it grows, delivering educational content from over 11,000 contributors to more than 200 million students and seven million teachers daily. Furthermore, the upgrade is set to benefit underserved communities and disabled students, reinforcing India’s commitment to inclusive learning.
