No words are enough to condemn, says Mehbooba Mufti after Pawar joins Maharashtra Govt

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti said on Sunday that no words can describe how the BJP has consistently undermined the popular mandate in Maharashtra since Ajit Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister in the state’s Eknath Shinde-led administration.

According to Mehbooba Mufti, not only is democracy being murdered, but the national anthem is being sung to offer cover for such crimes.

“No words are enough to condemn the manner in which BJP has repeatedly undermined the popular mandate in Maharashtra. Not only is democracy being butchered but they are using the national anthem to provide cover for such disgraceful actions.

“On one hand, BJP is arresting political opponents on trumped-up corruption charges while they themselves are on an MLA purchasing spree. Hard-earned public money is being misused to quench BJPs’ thirst for power,” Mehbooba Mufti tweeted.

Ajit Pawar, prominent leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra on Sunday and took oath as the state’s deputy chief minister. In a remarkable turn of events, Ajit Pawar arrived at Raj Bhawan with eight MLAs to see Governor Ramesh Bais.
