In an unexpected interaction, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a “lively conversation” about nation-building with students while commuting by metro to attend a centenary event at Delhi University on Friday.
Shivam Gupta, a 19-year-old B.Com. student from the university, described the chance to sit next to the Prime Minister and converse with him as a “magnificent experience”. Overwhelmed by the extraordinary encounter, he expressed his fortune at having such a close interaction with the country’s leader.Modi, en route to the valedictory ceremony of Delhi University’s centenary celebrations, boarded the metro at Lok Kalyan Marg station and disembarked at Vishwavidyalaya station on the Yellow Line. During the journey, he interacted with several commuters, including students.
Though initially intimidating, Gupta found Modi’s aura quite inviting. Amidst high security, students took turns to either sit or stand next to the Prime Minister, engaging in enriching conversations. The dialogue centred around the youth’s crucial role in nation-building. When questioned about India’s growing prominence, Modi credited the country’s youth for driving this growth. He further emphasised the importance of maintaining good health alongside learning.
