Trinamool Congress, led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has accused the Narendra Modi-led NDA government of a significant data breach in the database containing information about vaccinated individuals. Although the party did not specify the source of the leak, it is believed to be related to the Aarogya Setu database, which has faced criticism for its alleged invasion of privacy and violation of data protection regulations.
TMC leader Saket Gokhale took to Twitter to raise concerns about a significant data breach, claiming that personal information of “all vaccinated Indians” has been leaked. According to Gokhale, the leaked data includes mobile numbers, Aadhaar numbers, passport numbers, voter IDs, and details of family members. He further shared screenshots allegedly showing the leaked information of several prominent figures, including Opposition leaders Derek O’Brien, P Chidambaram, Jairam Ramesh, KC Venugopal, and senior journalists Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt, Dhanya Rajendran, and Rahul Shivshankar.
The TMC leader’s tweets have brought attention to a potential breach in the Aarogya Setu database, a COVID-19 tracking application that stores sensitive user data. The leaked information raises concerns about privacy and data protection. It should be noted that Gokhale’s claims have not been independently verified, and the government has previously denied any breaches in the Aarogya Setu application.
SHOCKING:
