Are Marriages Outdated?

This week on We Women Want, we take a relook at the institution of marriage and question the need to redefine certain patriarchal concepts. The panel includes Anuradha Das Mathur, Dean and Founder of the Vedika Scholars Program for Women; Shaili Chopra, Founder of She the People TV; and Dr Suman Khanna Aggarwal, a Gandhian and Founder President of Shanti Sahyog, an NGO that supports domestic violence victims.
The increasing financial independence of women and their ability to balance work and home life has empowered them to find their voice. However, while considering alternative forms of marriage, it is also important to acknowledge the positive aspects of married life, such as commitment and loyalty.
We Women Want is a weekly show that addresses women’s issues across different demographics. The show covers topics like body shaming, domestic violence, relevant laws, women’s health (including reproduction, menstruation, breast cancer, and IVF), acid attack survivors, domestic violence, and women in the workplace. Moderated by Priya Sahgal, Senior Executive Editor at ITV Network, the show has become a supportive community for women.
