Recently, a cartoon on India was published in the popular German magazine ‘Der Speigal,” which annoyed South Block. The cartoon was on the subject of India’s population growth, which surpasses that of China. In the picture, two trains were shown. One of the Indian rail passengers crowded the coach so much that many of them were even travelling on the roof of the train. The Chinese train was shown to be very neat and clean, and passengers were sitting comfortably. Realising the sentiments of the Indians, German Ambassador Philip Ackerman tried to patch up the situation. He invited that cartoonist to Delhi and urged him to have experience with the Delhi Metro service. According to him, it is far better than the Metro in German cities.

 

Japan praises PM’s 100th episode of ‘Man ki Baat’
Two days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 100th episode of ‘Mann ki Baat” was broadcast, the Japanese embassy in New Delhi acknowledged with great satisfaction in a tweet that he mentioned Japan in his 100th episode. The reason is that in the 89th episode of Mann ki Baat, PM Modi referred to the name of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinjo Abe and praised his work in his radio speech. In that ‘Man ki Baat’ episode, PM talked about Japanese artists who performed the Ramayana and Mahabharata to promote Indo-Japan cultural ties.

 

Abhishek Singhvi faces wrath from WB Congress
The Supreme Court recently slammed Justice Abhijit Ganguly of the Calcutta High Court for airing an interview on a local Bengali channel. The apex court has directed the Chief Justice of the High Court to transfer the cases involving TMC Abhishek Banerjee to another bench as they felt Justice Ganguly was prejudiced in the case. The interview with Justice Ganguly was brought before the Supreme Court by the AICC Spokesperson and Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi. In Kolkata, all the opposition parties, including Congress, were supporting Justice Ganguly for his proactive stand against the corruption of the TMC leaders.
