King Charles III’s coronation is set to take place on 6 May. The coronation is a celebration of his ascension to the throne.
The BBC will produce and broadcast the Coronation Concert on 7 May at Windsor Castle, with performers including Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Andrea Bocelli. Adele and Elton John have declined invitations to perform, citing scheduling conflicts.
With guests instructed to wear business attire or standard robes. “Day dress” is allowed for women and men can wear a morning coat, suit or military uniform. Hats are optional and “celebratory national dress” is also permitted.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has created a 27-song Coronation Celebration Playlist, including songs such as “Come Together” by the Beatles and “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush.
