IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR from 1 to 3 May

On Monday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning in Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas.

As the day progressed, several areas across the country experienced rain, as predicted. According to a tweet of IMD, waterlogging is expected in low-lying areas of the national capital due to the impact of the wet weather.

Late night on Sunday the IMD took to their official Twitter handle and penned, “Tamil Nadu, Kerala, South Interior Karnataka in South Peninsular India, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Western Himalayan Region and Madhya Pradesh in Northwest and Central India during 01st-03rd May and significant reduction thereafter from 4th May.”

Earlier in an advisory, the IMD said,”There may be minor damage to the plantation, horticulture and standing crops due to the impact of the heavy rainfall.”
