On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh police stated that they would double the reward for the capture of incarcerated gangster Atiq Ahmed’s wife, Shaista Parveen, who is wanted in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case.
The reward sum in Uttar Pradesh has been raised from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000. “The reward amount for the fugitive Shaista Parveen, who is currently absconding, has been increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000,” said Prashant Kumar, Additional Director General (ADG), Law and Order.

Shaista recently applied for bail in court, claiming that she had been wrongfully implicated in the Umesh Pal murder case.
The anticipatory bail motion was also denied by the Allahabad District Court, according to ADG Kumar.
In the Umesh Pal murder case, Atiq Ahmed and his family were investigated.
On March 28, Mafia don-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed was convicted and sentenced to harsh life imprisonment in the abduction case of now-deceased Umesh Pal by an MP-MLA court.
