In his address to the gathering, the prime minister described corruption as the greatest impediment to democracy and justice.
“Corruption is the greatest enemy of talent, and this is why nepotism and familism thrive,” Prime Minister Modi said.
He stated that the CBI’s primary responsibility is to rid India of corruption.
“No corrupt person should be spared. This is the country’s and its citizens’ desire,” he added.
He also stated that the CBI has established itself as a multifaceted and multidisciplinary investigation agency.
“From bank fraud to wildlife crimes, the scope of CBI has expanded significantly,” he said.
He claimed that the government had launched a mission against black money and benami property.
“Besides the corrupt, we are fighting causes of corruption,” Modi said.
Even today, he said, when a case remains unsolved, there are calls for it to be turned over to the CBI.
The CBI, the prime minister claimed, has instilled trust in people through its work and techniques.
