IPL 2023: Ganguly claims Delhi Capitals to miss Pant’s service

Former BCCI president and Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly stated that India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is young and he has a long career ahead. Currently, Pant has been recovering from injuries he suffered in a terrible car-accident last year.

Ganguly further added that Pant’s full recovery would take time. IPL franchise will definitely miss his service.

Delhi Capitals will start their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants from 1 April onward. Ganguly went on to say that the national team is missing Pant as well. He is still young, and he has a long career. He is replete with immense talent.

Pant’s performance in the IPL for DC is remarkable. He played 98 matches for DC and scored 2,838 runs at an average of 34.61 with a strike rate of 147.97. During the process, he smashed one century and 15 half-centuries.

IPL is not far away, so all teams are gearing up to give their best-possible performance. Ganguly has been keenly observing all the players of DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi ahead of the upcoming IPL 2023 session.

Ganguly further added that it is really challenging to work with the boys, and net practice is good, but our aim is to bring all of them for match mode. Ricky Ponting has been trying to maintain intensity during training.

However, David Warner will captain the team in the absence of Pant this season.

The IPL 2023 session is not far away; it will kick off on 31 March with a match between the defending champion Gujarat Titans and the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings. DC locks horns with the Gujarat Titans on 4 April at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
