18 parties go on hunger strike in Delhi tomorrow: MLC Kavitha

K Kavitha, an MLC for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the daughter of Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao, announced on Thursday that a hunger strike would take place in the nation’s capital on 10 March and that 18 political parties will committed to taking part in the protest to demand the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill during the current session of Parliament.

She also added that she will face the Enforcement Directorate as she has not done anything wrong. BRS leader K Kavitha, who received a summons from ED for questioning in the Delhi excise police case, said that if a woman has to be interrogated by the central agency, then, as per law, she has “fundamental rights” to be questioned at her home, she added during a press conference.

“We released a poster on hunger strike on March 2 in Delhi over the Women’s Reservation Bill. Up until now, 18 parties have confirmed their registration… ED summoned me on March 9. I request for 16 March but don’t know what haste they’re in, so I agreed for 11 March.” “When an agency wants to interrogate a woman, she has a fundamental right that it be done at her home,” she added.
