Recently political parties and the media are disturbed with the so called fake news in circulation. Noting this concern Parliamentary Standing Committee of Communication and Information Technology has broadly asked the Government to define the term ‘fake news’ and has also sought its response from the fact checking organisation. Already Government is on the job. But they sought more time for consultation on the process. Recently standing committee has submitted its report to the parliament during the budget session. The report dealt with the ‘Ethical standard of the media coverage.’ The committee had suggested to the ministry of Information and Broadcasting to use artificial intelligence in this regard. Now the committee members are eagerly waiting for the response.
