“All Quiet on the Western Front” wins big at BAFTA 2023

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) hosted its annual Film Awards at the Royal Festival Hall in the Southbank Centre on Sunday. “All Quiet on the Western Front” dominated the BAFTA Awards with a record-breaking seven wins including Best Director, Best Film, Best Film Not in the English language and Original score.

The film sets the record of winning a maximum number of awards being a non-English language film. 

The award for best actor was seen as a three-horse race between Austin Butler, Colin Farrell and Brendan Fraser. Surprisingly Austin Butler beat both of the actors to win the award for Lead Actor for his performance in “Elvis”. Barry Keoghan won in the category of Supporting Actor for “The Banshees Of Inisherin”.

Cate Blanchett nabs the Lead Actress title for her role in “Tar” at the ceremony. Kerry Condon won the award of Supporting Actress for “The Banshees Of Inisherin”.

The Banshees of Inisherin won in four categories of Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Original Screenplay and Outstanding British Film. “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, a fan and critic hit won the award for Best Editing. “Avatar: The Way of the Water” won in the category of Special Visual Effects.
