Anjali’s Mother’s Health deteriorated

Nidhi Was Detained In A Drug Case

According to an FIR filed in December 2020, Nidhi was detained in Agra in connection with a Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, (1985), offense. Nidhi is currently free on bond, according to police sources. On December 6, 2020, Nidhi was detained and taken into custody at the Agra railway station for importing ganja (drugs) from Telangana via train. She was subsequently taken into custody. Along with Nidhi, two other lads, Sameer and Ravi, were also taken into custody.

Another Revelation

Anjali Singh’s friend Naveen revealed Nidhi and Anjali fought over money before leaving the hotel on New Year’s Eve.

“Both were partying there (hotel). Some other friends were also there. A little later, they started quarreling. Nidhi asked for her money, and Anjali asked for her keys. They then had a physical altercation,” said Naveen

“We separated them. I told Anjali to calm down. Nidhi went downstairs and created a scene. The hotel staff told us about it. Anjali went downstairs to calm her down. They quarreled downstairs. By the time we went there, they had left on a scooter,” Naveen added.

Swati Maliwal On Delhi Police Investigation

Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal expressed her dissatisfaction with the Delhi Police’s action on Thursday and demanded the case be transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Talking to the media Swati Maliwal said Delhi Police is not conducting a fully unbiased investigation.

“I’m not satisfied with Delhi Police’s action. I recommend that this case be transferred to CBI. Delhi Police told us they’ve not recovered Nidhi’s phone till now. It’s very important evidence. It is beyond my understanding why it is not with the police till now?” Swati Maliwal said.

“Police still haven’t checked all CCTV footage from the 13 km stretch or recorded 164 (CrPC) statements of all eyewitnesses, section 302 not added. The first call came at 2.22 am about a woman being entangled in a car. But the police sprung into action only when they received a call at 4.15 am about a naked body,” the DCW chief stated.

At least 10 vehicles, including PCR vans and night patrolling units, were pressed into service to track the grey Baleno on the tragic night of the Kanjhawala horror when 20-year-old Anjali was dragged to her death by a moving Baleno. However, the car could not be tracked due to dense fog, according to news agency PTI citing police sources. According to the complaint, the car dragged Anjali 12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala while avoiding authorities by using side roads and tiny streets. Several contradictory statements have been made by those questioned by the police as the investigation is underway.

The family says Anjali never drank alcohol

The primary witness in the case, Nidhi, who was with Anjali when the accident occurred, asserted that Anjali was under the influence of alcohol that night and was coerced into driving the scooter. The assertion was denied by Anjali’s family, Anjali’s family refuted the claim and said they never heard of any Nidhi from Anjali. Anjali’s mother Reha Devi told reporters that Anjali never consumed alcohol and never came home drunk.

‘Nidhi and Anjali knew each other for 15 days, family says

Nidhi has now told the police that this was the first time they went out together on the night of the 31st. Nidhi said she had known Anjali only for 15 days. It has been found so far that Anjali and Nidhi went to a hotel to attend a party. A room was booked in the names of Anjali and Nidhi and their Aadhaar cards were given to the hotel authorities for booking the hotel. They were seen talking to seven men at the hotel party who have been interrogated by the police.

Anjali’s family doctor on Wednesday said Nidhi lied that Anjali was drunk and no trace of alcohol was found in her stomach in the autopsy report.

 Anjali’s family, ‘questions why Nidhi emerged following the funeral rites’

Anjali’s family has expressed concern about Nidhi’s recklessness, questioning why she appeared shortly after Anjali’s last rites were done and leaving Anjali to be dragged by the car without calling the police or returning home right away. “If she was scared then, why isn’t she scared now? This was Nidhi’s conspiracy,” Anjali’s maternal uncle said.

The latest CCTV footage from outside Nidhi’s residence showed Nidhi returned home at around 2.30 am — soon after the accident.

Anjali had 40 wounds; brain matter was ‘missing’

A total of 40 “antemortem external injuries”—mostly lacerated wounds, contusions, and abrasions—are recorded in the post-mortem report. The “brain matter” was “missing,” according to the report, and the pleural cavity was “open with an exposition of both lungs.”

‘Anjali was stuck to the left wheel’

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reported on Wednesday that the 20-year-old woman who died in Delhi after being dragged by a car for approximately 12 kilometers was stuck to the left front wheel of the car.

It is reported that most of the blood stains were found behind the front left wheel and added that so far, there are no signs to indicate that the woman was inside the car.
