PM Modi extends greetings on Navy Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his best wishes for Navy Day and noted that the force has distinguished itself with its humanitarian spirit while “steadfastly” defending the country.

“Best wishes on Navy Day to all Navy personnel and their families. We in India are proud of our rich maritime history. The Indian Navy has steadfastly protected our nation and has distinguished itself with its humanitarian spirit during challenging times,” PM Modi tweeted. India celebrates December 4 as Navy Day, every year, to acknowledge the role of the Indian Navy and commemorate its achievements in ‘Operation Trident’ during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

The Indian Navy is preparing to showcase India’s military power and capabilities through a “Operational Demonstration” in Visakhapatnam on Sunday, December 4, 2022, as India ushers in the “Amrit Kaal” with the start of the festivities of her 75th anniversary of independence.

Navy Day celebrations are being held outside of the National Capital this year for the first time. The capability and adaptability of the Indian Navy would be displayed by its ships, submarines, aircraft, and Special Forces from the Eastern, Western, and Southern Naval Commands. The ceremony at dusk and the illumination of ships at anchorage will mark the event’s conclusion.
