BJP converted Delhi into dumpyard in past 15 years: Sisodia

In the lead-up to the December 4 municipal elections, the Aam Admi Party launched its campaign on Wednesday to hold 1000 corner meetings under the jansamwad campaign. Deputy CM Manish Sisodia led the campaign in nine municipal wards in the areas of Kalkaji, Sangam Vihar, and Tughlakabad where he urged the voters to vote for AAP councillors.

“AAP councilors will work for the public interest and focus on cleanliness and sanitation issues in the area whereas if a BJP councilor is elected then he will only focus on stopping the development works. Upon election, BJP councilors’ main agenda would be to only fight with Arvind Kejriwal,” Sisodia said.

Sisodia said that in the past 15 years BJP has converted Delhi into a dumpyard. “Cleanliness in Delhi was the core responsibility of MCD but they failed terribly in managing it. Instead, they gave the capital three mountains of garbage. Along with this corruption and extortion increased rampantly during their reign. The condition of MCD schools and hospitals deteriorated in the past 15 years. Due to this public is frustrated and is now questioning that if Arvind Kejriwal can make government schools and hospitals world-class in just 5 years, provide free electricity, and free pilgrimage to the elderly then why didn’t BJP do anything in the past 15 years in MCD? But the BJP does not have an answer to this. They are just abusing us,” the deputy CM added.

He urged people in Harkesh Nagar to visit and take one final selfie with the Okhla landfill site before the AAP takes control of the municipality and flattens the garbage mountain. The AAP has concentrated its campaign on the problems with landfills and sanitation. AAP has also unveiled 35 minivans that have landfill replicas and are being driven around the city.

Sisodia repeated the claim that the BJP-led MCD intends to build 16 more landfills throughout the capital, a claim that has been refuted by both the BJP and the MCD.

“In 2017, BJP said that it will finish all the mountains of garbage from the capital. These mountains of garbage are actually the towers of failure of the BJP in MCD,” Sisodia said.

On Wednesday, 60 Jamsamvads were organised by AAP’s Star campaigners to engage with Delhi residents, including Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai, MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj, Durgesh Pathak, and Mahabal Mishra. Before the election scheduled for December 4, 2022, AAP leaders and activists will conduct Padyatras, Jansabhas, and door-to-door campaigning in various booths.

It is clear, according to Delhi BJP Spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor, after what Manish Sisodia said today that the Kejriwal administration did not offer any support to MCDs with a political slant during the previous eight years.

Basically, Sisodia is threatening Delhi residents, warning them that if they do not put AAP councillors in power, even the new MCD won’t receive the required backing, causing more misery for the populace.
