When we talk about the Indian startup ecosystem, the conversation would be incomplete without the mention of a few women’s incredible journeys. They are not just here to make big numbers but are playing and slaying with big moves to make a change in the ecosystem. Overcoming every obstacle, these women have been successful in building a brand for themselves. These born leaders are no less than role models for young boys and girls who aspire to start a business of their own. 
Here is a list of leading women who have made their mark in the entrepreneurial world.

Ghazal Alagh
Ghazal Alagh has been in the limelight for all the best reasons. The co-founder of Mamaearth is also an avid angel investor. Ghazal has had quite a journey since she first started Mamaearth, which initially only dealt with baby products. Ghazal started Mamaearth for her son, who suffered from a skin condition, and all the then-available baby products were a massive fail. She tapped into one of the needs of the parents and turned it into a business for them and her little one.

Shauravi Malik
Shauravi Malik was born and brought up in India’s capital, New Delhi. She studied at the city’s Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, followed by the University of Delhi, where she got her undergraduate degree in economics. From there, she went on to get a Master’s Degree in the subject from Cambridge University. Post Cambridge, she spent close to a decade in financial services, initially working at the Consumer, Healthcare, and Retail Advisory team at J.P. Morgan, followed by the Leveraged Finance team at the firm. Prior to starting Slurrp Farm, she also spent some time working as an investment manager at Sir Richard Branson’s Group Holding entity at the Virgin Group in London. Shauravi moved to Dubai in 2015, and currently spends her time between London-Dubai-Delhi growing the business in all three core geographies.
 
Meghana Narayan
Meghana grew up in the southern Indian city of Bangalore and studied Computer Science Engineering at Bangalore University. She then went on to receive a Rhodes Scholarship to study computation at Oxford University, after which she completed her MBA from Harvard Business School. Meghana has always been passionate about children’s nutrition and health and is on a mission to have a positive impact on India’s childhood nutrition statistics. Before starting Slurrp Farm, Meghana led the Public Health practice at McKinsey & Company. She has also been a national-level swimmer who represented India in the Asian Games and won over 400 national gold medals.

Priyanka Gill
The founder and CEO OF POPxo and Co-Founder of MyGlamm, Priyanka Gill, has been on a mission to create quality content and products for women of all ages. POPxo has successfully been able to create a safe and empowering environment for its viewers. Priyanka’s life came full circle after the successful merger with MyGlamm. Other than running these businesses, she is a big-time enthusiast of modern art and is an angel investor for many tech startups and food companies. 

Vineeta Singh
Vineeta Singh is the Co-founder and the mind behind SUGAR, one of the fastest-growing giants in the beauty industry in India. An IIT Madras, IIM Ahmedabad Alumnus has been hustling since the age of 23. In fact, her passion for entrepreneurship was such that she declined a placement offer of INR 1 Cr per annum from a global investment bank. She founded the cosmetics company along with her husband, which became a massive success story in no time.
