Art Exhibition in Cambodia marks 30 years of ASEAN-India relations

Art Exhibition in Cambodia marks 30 years of ASEAN-India relations

To commemorate the 30 years of ASEAN-India dialogue relations, the ASEAN art exhibition held in Cambodia on 11th November 2022 showcased artworks created by the ASEAN and Indian artists created on the theme of ‘The Oceans of Connectivity’ during the 2nd ASEAN-India Artists’ Camp in Udaipur in October 2022.
Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankar, Indian Ambassador to ASEAN Jayant Khobragade, Joint Secretary and Indian Ambassador to Cambodia Devyani Khobragade were in attendance at the exhibition.
Nguyen Phuong Linh from Vietnam and Somreth Keo from Cambodia who had participated in the exhibition attended and interacted with the delegation. They provided a deeper understanding of their works.
Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder Director of Seher, said, “The countries are separated by borders and oceans, but art and culture bring us all together. The concept of culture is so dynamic and is treasured in art. After a successful artists’ week in Udaipur, the exhibition of artworks in Cambodia showcases the strengthening of cultural ties between ASEAN and India and is a perfect fit to mark the 30th year of diplomatic relations between these countries and India. We are delighted to be a part of this exhibition and enable cultural knowledge exchange between India and Southeast Asian countries.”
Besides India, artists from Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar and Vietnam participated in the nine-day artists’ camp at Taj Aravali Resort, Udaipur.

Paintings of ASEAN India artists Camp held at Udaipur in October were put up for a special exhibition for the Hon’ble Vice President of India in presence of Dr S Jaishankar, Minister for External Affairs in Phnom Penh Cambodia. Special exhibition was organised by the Ministry of External Affairs Embassy of India in Cambodia and Seher. It was also attended by the distinguished Indian community in Cambodia.
