In the ongoing ICC T20, World Cup England has defeated India, and now England skipper Jos Buttler chose ‘Player of the Tournament’ to star Indian batter, Suryakumar Yadav.

While taking ‘Player of the Tournament’ name Buttler said, in the T20 World Cup Yadav played with ‘extreme freedom’ and played extremely well.

The two T20 World Cup finalists Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and Buttler picked their ‘Player of the Tournament.’

Earlier on Friday ICC unveiled the list of nine players they are, Indian batter Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan, Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi, England all-rounder Sam Curran, England openers Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, Zimbabwe all-rounder Sikandar Raza and Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga.

“I think Suryakumar Yadav. I think Suryakumar Yadav for me has been someone who has played with extreme freedom. He has been incredibly eye-catching to watch in such a star-studded line-up. To stand out the way he has is amazing,” Buttler said.

Meanwhile, in the tournament Yadav is the third-highest run-scorer with 239 runs. Talking about his team members getting the award Buttler said, “Of course, there is a couple of our guys on that sheet as well – Sam Curran and Alex Hales. If they put in a great performance in the final, they can be the Player of the Tournament for me.”

Moreover, Pakistan captain Babar Azam takes all-rounder Shadab Khan’s name for the award and said, “I think it should be Shadab Khan for the way he is playing. While his bowling has been outstanding, his batting also improved quite a bit. His dominating performances in the last three games along with his outstanding fielding make him a prime contender for the Player of the Tournament,” said Babar.

However, on 13 November 2022 England and Pakistan will meet in the final of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.
