Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished “courage, restraint and positive energy” to the citizens of the country on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami. The prime minister will also attend the Kullu Dussehra celebrations in Himachal Pradesh and inaugurate the AIIMS in Bilaspur. “Many many congratulations to all the countrymen on Vijayadashami, the symbol of victory. I wish that this auspicious occasion brings courage, restraint and positive energy in everyone’s life,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is in Jammu and Kashmir, said, “May this festival infuse new energy and inspiration in everyone’s life.”

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress MP who is currently leading the party’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ in Karnataka, tweeted: “Burn the Lanka of hatred, erase the Meghnad of violence, and end Ravan’s ego.” May the truth and justice triumph. “A very Happy Vijayadashami to everyone.” Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Shashi Tharoor, Ashok Gehlot, and other Congress leaders also wished the people a happy Dussehra.

Meanwhile, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated in the ‘Shashtra Poojan Samahroh,’ a religious and symbolic practise of worshipping the armed forces’ weapons that protect the nation.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also wished the nation a happy Vijayadashami.
