The Congress has been getting criticism for skipping the rally where Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu flagged off the rally in order to spread awareness about the “Har Ghar Tiranga’ Movement to mark the 75th year of Independence.

“Today was a significant event,” Union Minister Anurag Thakur said. “We tostarted off from the historical Red Fort and several Union ministers, MPs, and youth leaders came together and paid homage to the freedom fighters. “

In a tweet, Shehzad Poonawalla, a spokesman for the BJP, claimed that he could only observe politicians from the National Democratic Alliance participating in the demonstration. “Cong/TMC/AAP/SP missing, according to the media. In order to condemn the government will rhe opposition insult the tricolour?”

Earlier on Tuesday, PM Modi changed the profile picture of his social media accounts to the national flag, urging the nation to do the same.

The opposition has also mocked  the government  in one of the tweet. The Congress leader, Jairam Ramesh, tweeted, seemingly criticising the Centre’s choice to permit the production and sale of the tricolour made of polyester, “And that too in Khadi.”
