PM meets ministers to discuss government strategy

The Government’s strategy has been discussed in Parliament in a meeting attended by the top functionaries along with the Prime Minister on Thursday.

The meeting was scheduled as a result of the protest by the opposition for two days in a row, seeking an explanation over the price rise and the application of GST on items of daily use.

Rajnath Singh, along with Anurag Thakur and Kiran Rijiju, attended the meeting. Another meeting of all the floor leaders of the opposition (LOP) is at the office of LOP Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun  Kharge in Parliament.

The leaders of the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, the Shiv Sena, the Rastriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal katchi (VCK), the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and the Telangana Rastra Samiti were also present in the meeting. 

The Lok Sabha has been adjourned since the last two days of the monsoon session, and the third day was also adjourned early.The upper house was adjourned until 2 PM on the second day of the session amid protests and sloganeering by the opposition.

The monsoon session will be continued till August 12 and there will be 18 sessions in total.
