NEW DELHI: Netizens have been having a meme fest after Indian Premier League founder Lalit Modi revealed that he is currently dating former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen and the couple is intending to wed shortly.
Modi, 56, posted a series of images with the “Main Hoon Naa” actor on Twitter with the caption, “ Just back in London after a whirling global tour #maldives # sardinia with the families – not to mention my # better-looking partner @sushmitasen47- a new beginning a new life finally. Over the moon. In love does not mean marriage YET. BUT ONE THAT For sure”
Soon after the IPL founder announced their union, online users reacted to the news in differing ways. Some expressed their congratulations to Lalit and Sushmita, while others made fun of them for having a 10-year age difference.
One Twitterati commented, “9 saal ki kadi tapasya safal hui”, while another wrote, “The Sheer dedication. Man of patience”. The third user commented, “Good things take time”. Another Twitter user quoted, “Ladki patane ki tips dedo sir”. “My faith on money restored”, quoted the fourth one.
Lalit’s first marriage was with Minal Sagrani, whom he wed in October 1991. Together, they gave birth to a son named Ruchir and a daughter named Aliya. Karima Sagrani, a child of Minal’s first marriage, also has Lalit as a stepfather. Minal sadly passed away from cancer in 2018. Sushmita, on the other hand, dated the model Rohman Shawl till they split up last year. They had met over Instagram in 2018. Renee and Alisah, two adopted daughters, are raised by her.
The “Aankhen” actor was most recently spotted in the second season of Aarya on Disney+ Hotstar, which received positive comments from users online. Recently, Sushmita revealed that the third season of her criminal drama series “Aarya” is now in production.
