Referring Hyderabad as Bhagyanagar, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday sparked the buzz of the change of name of the Telangana capital. Addressing the BJP national executive meet, the PM said, “Hyderabad is Bhagyanagar which is significant for all of us. Sardar Patel kept the foundation of a unified India and now it’s BJP’s responsibility to carry it further.”
Quoting the Prime Minister, the BJP’s senior leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said that in states party workers are suffering enormous hardship and yet remain firm to ideology…our thought process should be from appeasement to fulfilment.”
As the national executive meeting moved to its second day on Sunday, the key focus remained on Narendra Modi’s speech and the party’s political resolution.
The political resolution moved by Home Minister Amit Shah at the Hyderabad meet also affirmed that in the next two- three decades India will emerge as “world leader”.
Later, addressing a public rally, titled “Vijay Sankalp Sabha”, the Prime Minister came down heavily on Telangana government. He said the people of the state are yearning for “double engine growth” which will happen when BJP comes to power.
Modi asserted that when BJP’s double engine will be formed in Telangana, development work will be expedited in every city and
village of the state. He expressed hope and said, “even in Telangana, people are paving the way for BJP’s double engine government.”
Detailing his government’s success in bringing mega projects and successful implementation, the Prime Minister said, “BJP is not only making projects of innovation and technology but also providing resources to poor brothers and sisters. We are putting constant efforts into welfare of Telangana’s farmers.”
