The mystery disease has affected over 600 people since Saturday evening. At present 99 people were undergoing treatment in Eluru and Vijayawada. Two more patients afflicted with the Eluru mystery disease succumbed while receiving treatment at the Vijayawada Government Hospital. With this, the death toll has reached three.

Meanwhile, experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) have added bleaching and chlorine used in Covid-19 sanitisation measures to the suspect list of the mysterious illness. WHO experts told the CM that they “suspect bleaching and chlorine used in sanitation measures as part of Covid-19 prevention might be the cause”.
