Five medical students of Badaun’s government medical college drowned in the river Ganga while taking a holy dip on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on Saturday.

Two of them were rescued by the locals while three are still missing. DM Budaun Manoj Kumar and SSP OP Singh rushed to the spot and lead the rescue operation that was carried out by SDRF and local police with the help of local divers. The search operation for three MBBS students who drowned in River Ganga in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun while taking holy dip on the occasion of Maha Shivratri, is still underway on Sunday. According to an eyewitness, all the students went into deep water and were washed away. Government Medical College authority said that it has informed the family members of the students.

All the students are from the 2019 batch and were close friends. They had reached the spot on three bikes and took a boat to reached the other side of the river.
