Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal
Pashupatinath Temple is a temple of Lord Shiva that is situated on the banks of Bagmati River near Kathmandu Valley in Nepal. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the oldest Hindu temple of Kathmandu, although it is not yet clear when it had been constructed. As per the reports, the temple is famous as people believe that their wishes get fulfilled once they visit this temple.
Tanah Lot Temple, Indonesia
It’s a massive rock formation in the Indian Ocean that serves as a home to one of Bali’s most beautiful temples. Dedicated to the Dewa Baruna or Sea God, locals visit this temple to pay tribute to the local prophet Dang Hyang Nirartha who built this temple in the 16th century, as per records. With waves crashing all around it, this temple is part of the seven sea temples on the coast of Bali.
Angkor Wat, Cambodia
Located in northwest Cambodia, Angkor Wat is the world’s largest religious structure in the form of a temple complex by land area. Crafted by the Khmer civilization between 802 and 1220 AD, this structure represents one of humankind’s most remarkable architectural achievements. Today, what one sees at Angkor is a collection of more than 100 stone temples which are the remains of a grand social and religious vestiges of the past.
Sri Subramaniar Swamy Devasthanam, Malaysia
This temple is famous for being home to one of the tallest statues of Lord Murugan, which stands at a height of 42.7 m. Also known by the name Batu Cave, this temple is located near Kuala Lumpur and attracts a large number of pilgrims throughout the year. This temple was built in 1890, and now stands out as a monumental focal point of contribution that was made by the Indian settlers during the development of Malaya.
Shri Kali Temple, Burma
Built in 1871 by Tamil migrants when Burma was the part of British India, Shri Kali Temple is famous for its unique architecture. The temple, noted for its colourful brilliance and beautiful stone carvings of Hindu Gods, makes it a marvellous visiting spot in Burma. It is located in Yangon which is also known as Little India.
