There is an acute shortage of doctors in the government medical colleges in Haryana which is a matter of serious concern as it continues to add to the woes of patients. In wake of this, the Government claims that efforts are being made to fulfil them by forming a cadre at the State level.
The information tabled during the second day of the Budget Session said that there are 9,047 sanctioned posts and 4,679 vacant posts in government medical colleges of the State. For this a proposal has also been sent to HPSC. Interviews have also been conducted to fill some of these posts. Thus, the recruitment
process is underway.
The information was shared regarding this by the concerned Minister in response to a question raised during the budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha here on Tuesday. it was informed P.G.I.M.S. Rohtak has 5,144 sanctioned posts in Rohtak and vacant posts are 2,385. In K.C.G.M.C., there are 944 sanctioned posts and 459 vacant posts in Karnal. Similarly, Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Govt Medical College, Nalhar has 1,062 sanctioned posts and 670 vacant posts. it was also informed that B.P.S.G.M.C. Sonipat has 1,019 sanctioned posts and 473 vacant posts. In SABVGMC, Faridabad there are 878 sanctioned posts and 692 vacant posts.
In a bid to encourage the doctors, the special Mewat allowance of doctors and other employees working in Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Medical College has not been stopped. Till now this allowance was
being given to doctors.
Now, a proposal to grant this allowance to those group-A,B,C,D employees who do not belong to the district of Mewat is under consideration. It also came to light that now a proposal of 10 percent basic plus DA has been made which has been approved by the Chief Minister and will soon be approved by the Finance Department. This allowance has been received till September 2022, thereafter
arrears will be ensured.
