This incident marks the second security breach in Doda district within a week. On July 9, security forces engaged terrorists in an encounter, but the terrorists managed to escape.
Earlier this month, one such attack in Badnota, Kathua, saw terrorists ambushing Army vehicles, resulting in the deaths of five soldiers and injuries to five others.
In the past 32 months, the Jammu region has witnessed the loss of over 40 soldiers in combat. Last month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi directed the Army to utilize all its anti-terrorist capabilities to eliminate terrorism in Jammu.
